While Bengaluru may be known as the IT Hub and startup epicentre of India, sometimes India’s Silicon Valley does make news for purposes other than its IT sector and auto rickshaw drivers. A Bengaluru man recently took to X and shared a picture of himself with his new co-passenger in a shared cab - a goat!
“I got in a shared cab today and later realised there was a goat behind me…” he wrote.
“There was a faint smell but I thought it was the old car leather. Turns out the leather was still alive..” he quipped.
Netizens React
Once the post gained traction, responses flooded in, each more creative than the last. Some people expressed sheer amusement, saying the goat deserved all the grass it wanted. Others indulged in clever wordplay, with one remarking that the ride was nothing short of “GOAT travel.” Another witty user pointed out that it was, quite literally, a shared cab since the seat was being shared with the animal.
Turning the Joke on the Passenger
Several users shifted the humor towards the man himself. One playful comment noted that the picture showed not one but two GOATs. Another quipped that the human passenger looked even more goat-like than the animal sitting behind him.
The GOAT Puns Take Over
Social media soon lit up with endless variations of the acronym GOAT—“Greatest of All Time.” Many joked that the animal was the true GOAT, while others said the cab ride itself deserved the title of the “greatest of all time.” The blend of wordplay, memes, and lighthearted banter turned a simple photo into a viral laughter riot.
