An owner of a paying guest (PG) accommodation has been arrested for allegedly raping a college student who had started living in his property just 10 days before the incident.
According to reports, the PG owner has been identified as Ashraf, who allegedly took the woman in a car to a secluded location late on Saturday night and assaulted her.
"Yesterday morning, a girl filed a complaint of rape against the owner of the PG. According to the complaint, he approached her at night and asked her to go out with him. When she refused, he allegedly forced her to a nearby location and raped her," Bangalore Police said in a statement.

Acting on the victim's complaint, police registered an FIR against the accused and arrested him.
"He has been taken into custody, and the investigation is under way based on her statement. The facts will become clearer after a thorough probe," a Bangalore Police official said, as quoted by news agency IANS.
