Indore (Madhya Pradesh): With just four days of Shravan left, the last Monday (Somwar) of the auspicious month witnessed a surge of devotion across the city.
Temples echoed with chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Om Namah Shivay’ since early morning as devotees gathered for jalabhishek and darshan of Lord Shiva.
Prominent temples, including Bhuteshwar Mahadev (Panchkuinya), Jabreshwar (Rajwada), Gendeshwar Shivdham (Pardeshipura), Gutkeshwar (Kila Maidan), Gopeshwar (Gandhi Hall) and Annapurna Mandir held special rituals.
There was rudrabhishek in many houses with offerings of dhatura, bhang and belpatra. Evening aartis and bhandaars drew large crowds.
Adding to the spiritual atmosphere, cultural performances at Ravindra Natya Grah featured scenes from Mahishasurmardini, Govardhan Leela, Shiv Tandav and Ram’s Lanka Vijay, casting a spell of devotion and tradition over the audience.
