Grexa AI, a B2B agentic AI marketing venture launched by edtech startup Testbook founders, has secured $1.8 Mn (INR 15.5 Cr) as a part of its seed funding round.
The fundraise was led by Offline Club founder and iSeed partner Utsav Somani, with participation from DeVC, Bharat Founders Fund, Vernalis Capital and a clutch of angel investors, including Revant Bhate (founder of Mosaic Wellness), Vaibhav Domkundwar (founder of Better Capital), Sumit Gupta (founder of CoinDCX) and Ramakant Sharma (founder of Livspace), among others.
The Mumbai-based startup plans to deploy the fresh proceeds for product development and driving go-to-market growth.
Founded by Testbook’s founding team, including Ashutosh Kumar, Ayush Varshney, Arpit Oswal and Narendra Agrawal in 2024, Grexa AI offers end-to-end digital marketing solutions for small businesses by leveraging its autonomous AI platform.
The company’s services include lead generation, creating campaigns and driving repeat sales by deploying AI agents.
The businesses can track all marketing activities on Grexa AI application, Kumar told Inc42.
Grexa AI facilitates a seven-day onboarding interaction with the business owner, where they are required to share personalise data of their brand. This data is used in training the AI agent, which is going to build customised marketing campaigns and solutions for the business, Kumar added.
The AI startup runs on a subscription-based model with two payment options — quarterly or annually. It also provides a free of cost WhatsApp-based AI agent to businesses, which works as a trial for customers.
“We have created an AI agent on WhatsApp number and that is being offered at free of cost to the businesses and we have already more than 21,000 people engaged there,” Kumar added.
Notably, Grexa AI is built using a combination of Google’s Gemini models, Anthropic Claude Sonnet and Open AI GPT models.
How AI Is Serving As A MarketerAs per areport, India’s AI-focused marketing market generated a revenue of $860.7 Mn in 2023, with an expectation to reach $4.38 Bn by 2030.
Leveraging AI for marketing is helping businesses in creating content, targeting a specific demographic and ease data-led research at a large scale. There are several B2B startups which are cashing on this opportunity.
For instance, startups like Pixis, Contlo, Scalenut, Unscript.ai, Intellemo, among others are leveraging agentic AI to streamline marketing processes including content creation, running campaigns, SEO monitoring and much more for businesses.
While there are giants like Zoho, which is also leveraging its AI-based customer relationship management platform Zoho CRM to help businesses optimise their sales, marketing, and customer support processes, several new startups are also gaining traction from investors.
For instance, Freshworks executives Ramesh Ravishankar and Srivatsan Venkatesan-owned marketing SaaS startup Highperformr.AI raised $3.5 Mn in its seed funding round last year.
Last week, AI-based content creation platform Trupeer.AI secured $3 Mnto expand its marketing footprint across US, Europe and other nations.
The madtech market, which includes marketing technology (MarTech), advertising technology (AdTech), and data technology (DataTech) is expected to lead India’s AI segment.
