Newcastle's wantaway forward Alexander Isak has reportedly told the club he still wants to join Liverpool after holding crunch talks with the hierarchy.
The Sweden striker has already accused the club's ownership of "broken promises" over his future and on Tuesday he held discussions with top figures in an attempt to find a solution to the ongoing transfer saga.
Isak has not trained with the Newcastle squad this summer after refusing to jet out to their pre-season tour of Asia and has continued to exile himself from Eddie Howe's group since the start of the season.
