A new preview for Emmerdale next week has revealed the moment John Sugden prepares to silence his husband Aaron Dingle for good.
Aaron knows all of John's dark secrets but is currently in a coma, after being dragged off a cliff by John. John survived and since waking up, he's pushed his claims that Robert Sugden, his brother and Aaron's ex, pushed them both off a cliff.
The police and people in the village believe Robert tried to kill them both out of jealousy, of course not knowing that Robert's claims of John being a killer and the rest are true. They still have no idea that poor Mack Boyd is chained up in an underground bunker, left to die by John who has held him captive for weeks.
It all rests on Aaron waking from his coma to expose John, free Robert and save Mack. Whether that happens to be seen has John vows to kill him, it seems, next week.

In the fallout to the horror stunt, John will sneak into Aaron's hospital room when no one is around. Keeping quiet about his little visit, it seems he plans to carry out his threat to Aaron that we saw this week.
In an episode we saw John tell Aaron that he could not let him wake from his coma, vowing to kill him. A new clip that airs next Wednesday sees Aaron still in a coma, fighting for his life.
John waits for the nurses to leave the room before he sneaks in, trying to stop anyone from spotting him as he does. We see Aaron unconscious as John enters the room and lets the door close behind him.
What happens next remains to be seen, but it's not looking good for poor Aaron. Will John kill him? Will John be caught before he gets the chance?
Viewers will have to tune in next week to find out, amid John actor Oliver Farnworth telling The Mirror what could be ahead. Asked about Aaron and Mack, Oliver teased there could be more danger ahead.
Obviously the star will not be able to give away details of the coming episodes or how the storyline ends, so there's every chance he's throwing us off the scent. But could his comments mean more characters are at risk?
Oliver told us "everyone is in danger", but we'll have to see what plays out. Friday saw the moment Matty Barton urged Victoria Sugden to listen to her imprisoned brother Robert, questioning if he might be telling the truth about what happened to John and Aaron.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , and Threads.
