Ghislaine Maxwell has launched an extraordinary attack on claims Prince Andrew had sex with Virginia Giuffre, telling US government lawyers the allegations are “b******”.
The US Department of Justice released the transcript and audio recording of an interview conducted by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche last month with the convicted sex trafficker. The disgraced socialite, serving 20 years in a Texas prison for supplying girls to Jeffrey Epstein, insisted there was “no way in God’s green earth” the encounter ever took place.
Maxwell broke her silence to dismiss the explosive story as “beyond rubbish” to Donald Trump’s deputy attorney general after he was sent to interview her. During their two-day interview, she accused lawyers, journalists and even prosecutors of concocting a “fake news” conspiracy.

Speaking to Blanche, Maxwell dismissed lurid allegations that the Duke of York slept with 17-year-old Giuffre, whose name was redacted, in the bathroom of her London mews in 2001. "It is absurd,” she raged.
“The house was a tiny 900 square feet. The bathroom where they claim it happened was so small you couldn’t lie on the floor. So it couldn't happen on the floor, because you physically, physically can't. This bathroom is too small to even be on the floors everywhere. Absolutely no way, no how. It did not happen.”
Maxwell, 63, also tore into long-running claims that she was the one who first brought Andrew and Epstein together, insisting: “That is a flat untruth.” The Duke had claimed during his 2019 car crash BBC Newsnight interview that Maxwell introduced him to Epstein, which she has categorically denied.
She argued that Epstein first crossed paths with the Duke through Sarah Ferguson and socialite Lynn Forester. “I didn’t know Andrew in the ’90s,” she said. “I believe that before that event, he had gone to the Bahamas and had hung out with Sarah Ferguson... Anyway, long and short, he met Andrew up there.”
She went on: “I would never have introduced them. It would never have occurred to me to introduce them. I couldn't imagine them being friends. Two chalk and cheeses would never -- I mean, for real, there's nothing there to connect them.”
Far from being the glue that bound Andrew and Epstein, Maxwell insisted she actually felt “excluded” when the two men started socialising. She admitted she was “p***ed off” at one stage.

But she described her own bond with Andrew as warm and enduring. “We got on like a house on fire,” she recalled. “In New York especially, he knew I was safe.”
Maxwell also went on the offensive over the infamous photograph of Andrew with his arm around the waist of Giuffre, who died by suicide in April, taken at her London home. She branded the snap “fake” alleging the date scrawled on the back was wrong and claiming the entire image was cooked up to bolster a legal case.
“I believe this whole thing was manufactured,” she said. Maxwell painted Andrew and Epstein as little more than casual social acquaintances who crossed paths at parties, holidays, and dinners.
But she insisted she was wrongly demonised as the link. And on the scandal that has dogged the Duke for more than a decade, Maxwell could not have been clearer. “There is no way in God’s green earth that this could have happened,” she declared. “Absolutely no way, no how.”
Epstein, who was indicted in 2006 for solicitation of prostitution, was arrested in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges. He died by suicide in his prison cell later that year, before facing trial.
