Sydney Sweeney cosies up to mystery man at lakehouse after ending engagement

Actor Sydney Sweeney has sparked romance rumours after being spotted getting "close" to someone whilst spending time with family and friends. It comes after the White Lotus star announced the end of her engagement to her ex.

Sydney, 27, had been in a relationship with her 'producing partner' Jonathan Davino, 42, for seven years. The Emmy nominee, who's starred in films like Anyone But You (2023), however confirmed in an interview earlier this year that they had separated, three years on from getting engaged.

Over the weekend, she was spotted soaking up the sun at her family's lake house in Idaho. Photos from the occasion have sparked rumours of a potential new romance, with Sydney seen spending time with an unidentified individual.

Photos, published by the Daily Mail, show Sydney in a black bikini whilst at the lake with family and friends. She was seen venturing away from the group to spend some time with her companion, including on a jet ski together.

She's seen steering the watercraft in the photos whilst he sat behind her and held onto her waist. Sydney, who like him was wearing a life jacket, appeared to be in good spirits as she glided through the water at the property, with her seen smiling in some photos released earlier today.

Sydney, who is said to have been blushing at times, was also spotted with her companion in another area at the lakehouse that featured a rope swing. Sydney was seen using the swing as the other person watched on nearby.

Sydney announced that she was single in an interview with the Sunday Times that was published back in May. It came following much speculation over her long-term relationship with film producer Jonathan in recent years.

They had been together for seven years and were thought to be getting married this year. Sydney and her former fiancé are said to have split up in January though and called off their wedding, which was expected to be in May.

Amid speculation about their relationship earlier this year, a source told Us Weekly that Sydney is "extremely busy" with her career. Her latest projects include the Housemaid; the film adaptation of the acclaimed novel by Freida McFadden.

The source suggested that Sydney's career added tension to her relationship with Jonathan. They said: "Things are also always tense between them when she is promoting a movie because she has to give her full attention to the project, and people always speculate about their relationship and Sydney being close to her costars."

Euphoria star Sydney later confirmed their break-up in the interview with the Sunday Times. Speaking about being single, she said at the time: "I'm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I'm loving it."
