Alexander Isak considers his Newcastle United career over and does not want to train with Eddie Howe's senior squad until he seals an exit, according to reports. The Swedish striker's future on Tyneside looks untenable, with Liverpool likely to return with an improved second bid after offering £110million in July.
Isak has made his desire to join the Premier League champions clear, taking steps to attempt to force a move that has upset Howe. On Wednesday, the Newcastle head coach instructed him to delay his training ground arrival until after a lunchtime barbeque organised for players and their families.
Howe had organised the event for after his morning session, the Magpies' first since returning to the UK from their pre-season tour of Asia.
Isak was absent in Singapore and South Korea, with the club citing a minor thigh strain despite scans reportedly showing no sign of injury.
The 25-year-old then ruffled feathers further by training alone and receiving treatment at former club Real Sociedad, rather than Newcastle.
Howe revealed that he learned of that trip through the media and suggested that Isak would be barred from first-team training as a result.

"You have to earn the right to train with us. We're Newcastle United," the 47-year-old told reporters in Seoul.
"Players have a responsibility to be part of a team and a squad. No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group. You have to act in the right way."
According to TBR Football, Isak has, indeed, been ordered to train alone, away from his Newcastle teammates.
But the wantaway striker's camp are said to have insisted that he does not want to be involved in Howe's sessions because he considers his future away from St. James' Park.
Newcastle are not expected to sanction Isak's exit unless two levers are pulled: Liverpool meeting their £150m valuation and the arrival of a suitable replacement.
The Magpies are enduring a dismal transfer window, though, and have faced rejection from several top targets.
Hugo Ekitike was on the club's radar before he opted to join Liverpool, of all clubs, while Benjamin Sesko has chosen Manchester United.
Newcastle remain in talks for Brentford's Yoane Wissa, while Ollie Watkins, Nicolas Jackson, Lois Openda, Samu Aghehowa, Evanilson and Rodrigo Muniz also feature on their shortlist.
