Henry Rowley already has a huge combined following of more than two million as a social media comic, with fans in stitches over his impressions of acting greats Keira Knightley and Hugh Grant - but now he's about to join the acting world himself. He's landed himself a role in an upcoming Lionsgate/MGM TV production of Robin Hood, where he'll play Will, Robin's cousin and one of his Band of Merry Men.
will play alongside him as the tyrannical Sheriff of Nottingham, and the pair, along with the entire team, have been travelling backwards and forwards to Serbia for filming sessions. He's sworn to secrecy on some elements of the role, which will hit viewers' TV screens in the not too distant future, but he did share why he believes he's perfect for his character. "I used to dress up as Robin Hood as a kid. I watched Prince of Thieves and the Disney version, so I was just obsessed with the story as a whole," he explained, "and then out of nowhere I found I'd got the role and was flying out to Serbia. It was mental."
As Robin Hood's cousin, he's "torn between his home of Nottingham and his new life in London", which is a perfect analogy for the transition he's currently making between light-hearted social media stardom, where he was constantly telling jokes, and serious acting roles.
Would his playful mockery of Keira Knightley on TikTok come back to haunt him if he starred alongside him in a film in the future?
Henry, a former child actor himself, blushed as he imagined the potentially awkward interaction, but insisted his first words to her would be: "I respect you so much."
"I've grown up watching all of her movies, and I think she's amazing. I hope that she recognises that the video was out of respect for how incredible she is rather than poking fun," he explained, adding that he'd love to star in an action movie with her in the future.
Meanwhile, Robin's current character, which has seen him whisked away to the "beautiful Serbian countryside" is "caught between two worlds [and] wants belonging, respect and a future beyond the shadows of the forest".
Handsome Henry wouldn't look out of place in one of Britain's biggest celebrity families, according to enamoured Instagrammers who've made comparisons to .
However, there's something else they share in common too - their appearances in snack ads.
While David Beckham previously fronted a campaign for Snickers, sweet-toothed Henry is championing the Cadbury's Dairy Milk Biscoff bar, which proudly boasts it's a unique combination of gooey chocolate and biscuit crunch.
The mixture of two opposites at the same time mirrors how he's juggling both acting and social media simultaneously - and he shared that he sees acting as chocolate and TikTok as the biscuit, "because whichever way around, the two go great together".
Henry told us that "some brand deals are much cooler than others" and Cadbury's is at the top of his list as the product is "genuinely delicious".
Henry Rowley has partnered with Cadbury on its latest campaign celebrating the 'Bothist' movement-a mindset for those who refuse to choose - to launch the brand-new Cadbury Dairy Milk Biscoff bar, the perfect combination of chocolate and biscuits. Available in all major supermarkets.
