Prince Harry talked about his newfound duty after his nephew, Prince George, was born. The second in line to the throne will be celebrating his 12th birthday on July 22 and the Duke of Sussex's comment has once again resurfaced.
Harry talked about how excited he was to become an uncle for the first time in his memoir, Spare, which was released in January 2023. In a short segment in the book, the Duke reminisced about the time the Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed their firstborn son in 2013. He wrote: "I WAS AN UNCLE. Willy and Kate had welcomed their first child, George, and he was beautiful."
Talking about his excitement for his new role, he added: "I couldn't wait to teach him about rugby and Rorke's Drift, flying and corridor cricket-and maybe give him a few pointers about how to survive life in the fishbowl."
July 22 will see George being forced to follow a strict royal rule that his own father, Prince William, also had to follow.
While there are many protocols that ensure the safety and well-being of the Royal Family when they travel, there is one strict rule which aims to protect the line of succession.
According to the rule, it is against royal protocol that two heirs to the throne travel together.
Since William is heir to the throne and George is next in line, it could likely mean that the rule will take effect sometime after next week.
The Prince of Wales had to go through the same when he turned 12 in 1994.
