A huge fire has broken out at an industrial site in Swindon as locals were ordered to stay inside following reports of an explosion. Police, ambulance crews and firefighters rushed to the Groundwell Industrial Estate on Crompton Road in Swindon at about 7:30pm following a "serious" explosion.
The blast has rocked Swindon with residents hearing a "loud bang" before the fire erupted, one said they felt their house shake. Dramatic images show large dark plumes of smoke billowing into the night sky. Wiltshire Police say large cordon is in place around the scene and are working to evacuate the immediate area, and that people living nearby should stay indoors and keep their windows closed for their own safety.
