Thiruvananthapuram: Nemom police will soon submit a proposal to the city police commissioner to imprison a 21-year-old Melarannoor native under Kerala Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act (Kaapa) for engaging in criminal activities despite previous restrictions. The proposal will later f be orwarded to the district collector for approval.

Police identified the accused as Vishak Vijayan of Pandaravilakam House near Melarannoor. In March this year, police had evoked Kaapa against him and he was restricted from entering Thiruvananthapuram city and engaging in any criminal activities. The restriction was imposed due to his involvement in several criminal cases. However, the accused again got involved in several cases, including an attempted murder case registered at Malayinkeezhu police station, violating the earlier order.

In view of this, a new FIR was registered under sections 19 and 15 (4) against Vishak for violating Kaapa. Police said Vishak was involved in as many as eight criminal cases and was absconding.
