Aamir Khan reacts to theatrical release of 'Sitaare Zameen Par': "I am a cinema guy"

The release of the 'Sitaare Zameen Par' trailer captured the attention of viewers eager for a touching tale about love, joy, and family bonds. Serving as a spiritual follow-up to the 2007 classic 'Taare Zameen Par', the film has been steadily gaining momentum. Now it is once again making headlines, as Aamir Khan recently announced that the movie will be exclusively released in theatres.

During a recent podcast with Raj Shamani, Aamir was asked about the release plans for 'Sitaare Zameen Par.' He said, “Sitaare Zameen Par is releasing in theatres only. I am a cinema guy and I do believe in cinema and theatres, hence I decided to only release it in the theatres.”


Introducing Ten Promising New Talents


Aamir Khan is excited to showcase ten promising new talents: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. The film is directed by R. S. Prasanna, known for the groundbreaking hit 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan'. He now reunites with Aamir Khan Productions for their most ambitious project yet, 'Sitaare Zameen Par'.

Behind the camera deets
'Sitaare Zameen Par' stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, supported by a talented group of ten young actors. The soundtrack is crafted by the renowned trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The screenplay is penned by Divy Nidhi Sharma. Alongside Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, Ravi Bhagchandka also serves as a producer. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 20, 2025.
