Grand Theft Auto VI ( GTA 6) has been officially listed on the PlayStation Store with a release date of May 26, 2026. The listing is now visible for users, and PlayStation 5 owners can also add the Rockstar title to their wishlists. This follows the recent release of the second official trailer for GTA 6, which generated significant excitement online. The first official trailer of the game was released in December 2023, and fans were eagerly awaiting more information about the highly anticipated game. Alongside the new trailer, Rockstar has even updated its website with an official GTA VI page. The website now includes details about new characters, the map, and over 70 screenshots for fans to analyse.
However, the PlayStation Store listing has not yet revealed the game's price. With the game's launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles about a year away, the price is expected to be announced in the future. Moreover, the appearance of the official artwork on consoles is building further anticipation for the game's release.
GTA 6 trailer 2 makes a new record
The second trailer of GTA 6 drew over 475 million views across platforms in its first 24 hours, compared with 93 million views for the initial teaser released in 2023.
Rockstar Games even clarified that the latest trailer, which now has over 100 million views on YouTube, was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5 and consists of an even mix of gameplay segments and cinematic cutscenes, addressing audience impressions that it emphasised narrative material over interactive content.
This preview introduces six new characters—Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre’Quan Priest, Raul Bautista, and Real Dimez—and reiterates that the game’s principal setting is Vice City, accompanied by five adjacent regions: Ambrosia, Grassrivers, Leonida Keys, Mount Kalaga, and Port Gellhorn.
In conjunction with the trailer, Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6’s release has been postponed from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026, to allow additional development time and ensure the production meets the studio’s standards.
The trailer’s soundtrack—a renewed feature of The Pointer Sisters’ 1986 track “Hot Together”—also experienced a significant surge in Spotify streams, climbing by 182,000% after the video’s debut.
