Ace comedian Kapil Sharma's newly opened Kap's Cafe in Canada has once again made headlines. The café, located in Surrey, British Columbia, has been targeted for the second time in under a month.
According to a report by the Indo-Canadian Voice, Kapil Sharma's Kap's Cafe in Surrey was reportedly targeted in a shooting incident, the second one in under a month. A viral social media post, allegedly linked to gangster Goldy Dhillon and associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the attack.
"Jai Shri Ram... aaj jo Kapil Sharma ke Kap's Cafe, Surrey mein firing hui hai, iski zimmedari Goldy Dhillon te Lawrence Bishnoi gang leti hai... next karwai jald hi Mumbai mein karenge, (Goldy Dhillon and Lawrence Bishnoi gang take responsibility for today's firing at Kaps Cafe in Surrey, we will now do this in Mumbai next)," the post read.
Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident, although a few staff members were present inside the café at the time. The reason behind this second attack is still unknown. However, it occurred shortly after Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke visited the café to mark its reopening.
This latest attack comes just weeks after a previous shooting at the same location in the second week of July, when multiple shots were fired at Kap’s Cafe. According to reports, police had launched an investigation into the incident.
According to the Surrey Police Service, the shooting took place at around 1:50 am (local time), with several staff members inside the café at the time. Thankfully, no one was injured.
The cafe had only recently opened earlier that week. The morning after the attack, at least 10 bullet holes were visible in one of the café’s windows, and another glass pane had been completely shattered.
On the work front, Kapil recently returned with the season 3 of his hit show, The Great Indian Kapil Show.
