Motorists in Ras Al Khaimah are being urged to drive with extra caution today due to dense fog affecting several areas this morning. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather alert, warning that thick fog is expected to persist until 8:00 AM, significantly reducing visibility on major roads.
Location including Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, Al Jazeera, and Al Hamra were reported to be blanketed in fog, posing potential hazards for drivers. Authorities are advising drivers to slow down and stay alert.
Beyond the fog, the day’s weather is forecast to be dusty and partly cloudy, with a gradual dip in temperatures. Coastal and island areas can expect highs between 39°C and 42°C, while inland regions may see temperatures peak between 43°C and 47°C. Mountainous areas will remain cooler, ranging from 29°C to 36°C.
In Northwest winds will blow at speeds of 15 to 30 km/h, with occasional stronger gusts, raising dust and sand that could further limit visibility. The sea conditions are likely to be rough in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea will be slightly to moderately agitated, prompting a warning for mariners to proceed with care.
